We have embraced social media as part of our marketing toolset to get your listing the best possible exposure and reach. Our goal is to generate more visits to your listing via our own marketing than are created by the typical MLS® website posting and REALTOR® systems alone. We can never replace MLS® as that is the core engine of our whole real estate system but we can augment it and get your listing exposed in marketing channels that did not exist a decade ago.
While dedicated home buyers will be shopping MLS® at realtor.ca and ottawarealestate.org, we want to hit casual shoppers in the places they go most. Here are just a few of things we do to drive exposure for your listing on social media.
We post listings and open houses to our timeline and ask our fans to like or share the post. Similarly, you can help by liking our page and sharing these posts to your own network of friends.
We pay for promoted posts or ads on facebook which have proven to provide lots of clicks or “virtual” showings to your listing. We also track these and report to you on them. They are costly ads, so we use them strategically to support the launch of new listings, open houses or at other strategic points in the listing life cycle.
We have a growing following on twitter which in itself is another channel to market your listing but we are also using promoted tweets. A fast growing and highly visual media, (besides being a heck of a lot of fun!) pinterest provides a great spot to post listings and generate improved SEO positioning of your listing. Throughout our social media activity we use keywords to ensure your listing will be easily found by search engines.
Our blog has been a very successful part of our profile over the last year and we try to post as much useful, timely and objective information or links that we can for homeowners, buyers and sellers. We also occasionally write a strategic blog post that dovetails with a specific listing that we have ie. A downsizing article with a link to a condo listing or a report on a 55+ adult community that links to a listing in that community. etc.
A blog post about a specific neighbourhood or community could also tie in to a listing in the area.
